Yvonne Kahl has been with the PAWLIK Group since 1996 and, as Head of Human Resources and shareholder, played a key role in shaping the further development and culture of the consulting firm. Now she is establishing Corporate Social Responsibility as an independent area of responsibility. In doing so, the Hamburg-based manager relies on involving the employees in the projects and developing CSR from within. “Social responsibility is borne by people. That is why we are building structures in which every person can provide ideas and make a contribution,” says the 55-year-old.
Currently, seven CSR projects are running in parallel in the PAWLIK Group, among others on the topics of diversity, ecology and education. As a former HR manager, Yvonne Kahl knows that CSR projects connect employees across departments: “Especially in times of home offices, we can also strengthen interpersonal cohesion and loyalty to the company through joint social and ecological commitment.” Surveys show that employees are particularly proud of their employer when they make their own contribution to its social commitment.
CEO Joachim Pawlik describes the appointment as ideal: “Yvonne Kahl has helped shape our company since its founding. She is therefore developing CSR in an absolutely coherent way from our own culture, which is very much based on the assumption of responsibility by each individual.”
How Yvonne Kahl makes CSR a topic for all employees, she answers in the interview.
